How has being a Religion graduate from Duke helped shape you personally and/or professionally?

"As a Religion major, I formed strong relationships with my professors and peers who helped me find my voice as a young scholar. Concentrating in comparative religion encouraged me to understand how people's diverse experiences shape their values and actions and to question my own assumptions. Recognizing my strong ethic of care and moral imperative to seek justice helped guide me to become an Animal Welfare Scientist and inspire my commitment to make science more inclusive and equitable."

What advice would you give students in Duke's Religion programs?

"Be brave! Seek out classes and people with different perspectives than yours and let their lights help illuminate your path."
