Religious Studies Tuition Award
Many students accepted into the M.A. program receive the “Religious Studies Tuition Award." This financial award is based on need, and can cover 20 - 40 percent of tuition costs for each of four semesters (the first three must be full-time and the last may be part-time).
Van Rompay Scholars
Additional scholarship awards are based on academic excellence. Based on academic excellence, two incoming students are selected each year by the M.A. Director and the selection committee as "Van Rompay Scholars." Chosen for their outstanding academic promise, these students receive a tuition award of $2,000 for each of their two years of full-time enrollment.
Message from the Department:
The faculty of the Department of Religious Studies laments and strongly objects to the racist comments and symbols that have appeared on campus at Duke, repugnant expressions of White supremacy groups and others expressing racial and religious hatred that have no place whatsoever in our community or anywhere else. We sincerely hope that students, staff and faculty across the university will publicly convey their staunch rejection of such hatred in order to champion the values of tolerance and equality that are the true basis of our intellectual and ethical community.
