This conversation on World Literature is part of our theme series World Arts.Is the world of "World Literature" the same as that in "world cinema" or "world music"? Is the world a temporal category as much as a geographical one? How do terms such a global, city, geopolitics, international, world systems, the planetary, or pluriverse relate to the category of world in relation to the arts? And how do we think about the world in translation?Speakers are: Nancy Armstrong, Gilbert, Louis, and Edward Lehrman Distinguished Professor of English Roberto Dainotto, Professor of Romance Studies Anne Garréta, Research Professor of Literature Shai Ginsburg, Associate Professor in the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies Catherine Reilly, Assistant Professor of Literature Aarthi Vadde, Associate Professor of EnglishThis roundtable will be followed by a discussion and a reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres.
